Dahr Jamail is an independent journalist who has spent 8 months reporting from occupied Iraq. He has covered the Middle East for four years, including reporting from Lebanon during the war during the summer of 2006. He writes regularly for the Inter Press Service and Al-Jazeera English, and has contributed to The Independent, The Guardian, The Sunday Herald, and The Nation. His forthcoming book, “Beyond the Green Zone: Dispatches from an Independent Journalist in Occupied Iraq” will be published in October by Haymarket Books.
